Back to School, Back to Yoga

Now that the summer break is over and the kids are back in school, you can go back to your routine. It may be an old routine or a new and improved one, but by golly, it's a routine and it's yours!

Humans are creatures of habit. We all benefit from having a schedule. It's familiar and predictable. We know what is expected of us from day to day. Moreover, we learn what to expect from ourselves. Our daily routine can also tell us a lot about ourselves. It is a culmination of the goals we set for ourselves, our habits, and our priorities.

When setting your priorities, how far down on the list are you? If your goal is to improve your health (mind, body, and spirit) and it involves the practice of yoga, then send a positive message to yourself.

The message: I AM A PRIORITY.

Make time in your routine to practice yoga daily. Even if you can't make it to the studio, set some time for sun salutations, or at the very least, svasana at home. Don't have time for daily practice? Then join us weekly! Check out the schedule and if you sign up in advance, we'll even save you some time...we'll have a mat waiting for you.

Incorporating yoga into your regular schedule will help you return, not only to your routine, but to the connection you have with yourself. It's this self-awareness that will keep you true and alert as you maneuver through yet another school year. Best of all, it's your daily reminder that you are at the top (or near the top) of your priority list.
